The Dude is Mobile
I continue to like the way the Swift Boat crap has played out for Kerry. Its looking more and more like Bush just walked into a huge trap. In the past few days:
- Most of the Swift Boat Vets Liars' claims have been found to conflict not only with other people's accounts of what actually happened, but also with their own previous accounts.
- The press has dug up a number of connections between the SBV and Bush, resulting in at least 2 resignations from Bush's campaign.
- Now, Kerry is airing this very powerful ad, featuring John McCain accusing Bush of using "fringe veteran groups" to smear his combat record.
Finally, we were treated to this great picture of triple amputee Max Cleeland attempting to deliver a letter from veterans to Bush at the ranch. Shockingly, Bush did not have the fortitude to meet with Cleeland. Instead he sent out one of his local politicos to take the letter (and to give Cleeland another letter to send back to Kerry). Cleeland refused to hand over the letter to the lackey, causing said lackey to state: "I tried to accept that letter and he would not give it to me," said Patterson. "He would not face me. He kept rolling away from me. He's quite mobile."
So much for the comfort in thinking Bush was surrounding himself with bright folks...
