<title xmlns="http://purl.org/atom/ns#">Bookfilter: In search of older grade school kids' book I read once years ago while visiting my cousin, and kind of dug. All I can remember is that it was a vaguely medieval setting, where the main character was a young woman named either Soony or Sooney, who lived alone in a cottage in the woods; much of the book was taken up with her helping out three different princesses or noblewomen in succession. Towards the very end, Sooney finally meets a young man herself, but rather than a nobleman, he was another salt-of-the-earth person like herself, and HE'S the one she marries. I also remember that once in a while the narration would comment on something wise or common-sensical Sooney did by saying: &amp;quot; That was Sooney. She knew what she thought about things.&amp;quot; Does this sound familiar to anyone? The book would probably have been published sometime before the mid-80's, as that's about the time I read it.</title>

I'm intentionally leaving the question as broad as it is and would love to hear your answers, mothers and fathers; but especially in regard to how it may have changed you, as a person. <title xmlns="http://purl.org/atom/ns#">I looked around and didn't see anything that asked this question. I respect this community and thought it could help, as I feel overwhelmed. I am looking for a desktop PC that will help me edit my home movies. I have Sony Vegas 8 and a HV20 HDV video recorder, both high end stuff. My current PC does not seem to be able to handle the heavy lifting of editing and storing. I have 1200 dollars to spend, and I am not sure what media center type PC works best for what I want to do. Googling the net just gives me varied opinions from thinly disguised salesmen. Thanks for any help or advice. </title>

<title xmlns="http://purl.org/atom/ns#">How's life in Burlington, VT?I was in Burlington this past weekend and was very pleasantly surprised. Ignorant and judgmental as I am, I was sure it would be a bummer hippy-town where dreadlocked kids would crowd the sidewalks, using falafels as hacky sacks. Instead, I felt like the place had some soul. It certainly felt alive, with lots of different kinds of people in the downtown area. And while I did overhear a tourist couple ask the woman serving them coffee where they could buy a glass pipe, I didn't see any head shops. But I did see some decent looking restaurants. So - can anyone fill me in? Is Burlington on the upswing? What's like like there (or around there) for the post-college, pre-retirement set? Thanks in advance.</title>
