Reunion
The 5 Cox siblings, of which my husband is the oldest and now known as "The Patriarch," met at the Brosnan Forest in St. George, South Carolina, for our first Annual Family Reunion. This is the vacation spot owned by Norfolk-Southern Railway, so the family is used to vacationing there. Erin celebrated her first birthday there, with the traditional carousel cake.It was too hot for fishing, so the 2 trophies designated as such were awarded in the the Shanghai Rummy tournament. The Minnnesota nephews taught us the card game, "Mao," or "Mow," and there was lots of food and laughter and quite a bit of screaming and yelling. I'm afraid that I am turning into an old fuddy-duddy who doesn't enjoy the crowds as much as I used to. I was silly with the right people (they know who they are). Next year, we think we'll all go to Minnesota. Mike handed out brochures for 2005 when it's his turn to host - we're taking them to the Disney Resort in Hilton Head.

I must say I found the forest to be an exciting time for all. My favorite moments were watching Jordan flick Jeremy again and again, taking pictures of butts, fishing with my father, being girly with my mom, seeing my brother relaxed again, and generally being away from the chaos that is nursing school. I cannot believe I cried at Mau, but I did uncontrollably I might add. I was laughing that hard. Dan, my hero, went to retrieve some Kleenex for me. I love that man.
