I found myself noodling around on Wikipedia (and who hasn’t found themselves doing that) when I found myself reading about Junior Johnson.
You’d think someone who lived in the NC Piedmont for his entire life would have some knowledge about a bootlegger who (apparently) more-or-less inspired the Dukes of Hazzard.
My only excuse (and it’s lame) is that I dimly remember the Dukes of Hazzard being part of Georgia (they were always going to Atlanta) that I figured they must be part of Georgia’s past.
Anyway, this discovery has made me wonder if NC’s only (legal) distillery gives tours…
